Who Is Jesus Christ?
The answer to the question who is jesus christ will shape your entire life. It will affect how you spend your time and money, who you trust to guide your decisions, and whether or not you believe that God created the universe and everything in it, including you. So it's not a question you should settle for a quick, off-the-cuff answer that someone else gives you. It's a question you need to dig deep into yourself not to find what other people believe, but to discover who God says He is.
The Bible reveals that Jesus is the God-man, or incarnate Word of God (John 1:14). He is fully God and has always existed, but He became a man so that He could relate to us and understand our problems, and die for our sins. He resurrected from the dead, and ascended into Heaven where He is now seated at the right hand of the Father. This gives Him authority over all things, both spiritual and physical. He is the head of the church and will return to judge the living and the dead.
Jesus began his ministry as an itinerant Jewish prophet and teacher in Galilee over 2,000 years ago. He preached that the Messiah had come to save His people from their sins and establish a kingdom on earth. His followers soon established a new religion called Christianity based on His teachings.
Over time, His name was Who is jesus shortened to Jesus Christ. The name comes from the Greek word christos, meaning "anointed one" or "one who was sent". It is also a form of the Hebrew name messiah, which means "he who saves."
His followers soon realized that He had been raised from the dead and appeared to them after his death. This led to an extraordinary expansion of His influence, which is still being felt today. His teachings on love, sacrifice, purity, servanthood, and obedience continue to be admired throughout the world.
There are many different ideas about who Jesus is, but Christians believe that He was the Son of God, the savior of humanity, and the light of the world. They further believe that Jesus died on a cross to pay for our sins and rose from the dead. This paid for the punishment for our sins and reconciled us with God.
Jesus Christ is the most important figure in history and is central to Christianity, the world's largest religion. He has become the inspiration for much of Western culture, from Renaissance paintings like Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper to works by impressionists like Vincent van Goh. His words have inspired great thinkers throughout history, from Augustine of Hippo to Fyodor Dostoyevsky to C. S. Lewis to J. R. R. Tolkien. He is also the subject of some of the most beautiful and moving works in literature and music. In fact, most of the great masterpieces of the Western tradition depict or refer to Jesus.
